Margnat-Paloma burst onto the professional peloton in the early 1960s, backed by the French fruit juice and soft drink brand that lent the team its distinctive name. The squad made its mark at the 1964 Tour de France, where riders battled through sun-scorched roads in this striking white-and-blue livery, the bold red lettering catching the eye of roadside crowds and television cameras alike. Under the guidance of directeur sportif Raymond Louviot, the team nurtured homegrown French talent hungry to challenge the dominant forces of Italian and Belgian cycling. The clean colour-blocked design — crisp white shoulders giving way to a deep royal blue — became one of the most recognisable kits of the mid-sixties, a period when cycling sponsorship was evolving and jersey aesthetics were becoming as important as the riders who wore them.
