Del Tongo–Colnago was one of the most recognizable squads in the Italian peloton during the early 1980s, backed by the famous kitchen manufacturer and equipped with some of the finest steel frames ever built in Cambiago. The 1983 season saw Giuseppe Saronni leading the team in this striking yellow and black livery, fresh off his unforgettable rainbow jersey victory at the 1982 World Championships in Goodwood. With Ernesto Colnago's machines beneath them and Campagnolo components shifting through every mountain pass, the squad embodied the golden age of Italian craftsmanship both on and off the bike.
