Sonolor-Lejeune was one of the great French squads of the late 1960s and 1970s, carrying the bold colors of its electronics sponsor across the most punishing roads in European cycling. Under the leadership of directeur sportif Henry Anglade, the team nurtured fierce competitors who thrived in the mountainous stages of the Tour de France and the brutal cobbles of the spring classics. Riders like Jean-Pierre Genet and later the talented Lucien Van Impe wore these vibrant red, yellow, and white stripes with unmistakable pride, attacking with a panache that embodied the spirit of French cycling in its golden age.
