De Gribaldy, affectionately known as the "Vicomte," had an extraordinary eye for talent and would go on to mentor future champions like Sean Kelly, but his early squads were built on grit, loyalty, and a distinctly French flair for racing with panache. The team's crisp white and blue livery with bold red lettering became a familiar sight on the roads of the Tour de France and Paris–Nice throughout the decade.
