Raphaël Géminiani was one of the great firebrands of postwar French cycling, a rider whose passion and tenacity earned him the nickname "Le Grand Fusil." His St Raphaël-Géminiani squad, backed by the famous quinquina apéritif brand, became a fixture of the European peloton throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, fielding legendary talents including Jacques Anquetil during his early Tour de France triumphs.
