L'équipe néerlandaise PDM, soutenue par un géant pharmaceutique, était une force redoutable dans le peloton professionnel, avec une liste de puissants coureurs de classiques et de prétendants aux courses par étapes. Leur kit graphique et audacieux se démarquait nettement des routes européennes qu'ils dominaient.
