Mercier-BP-Hutchinson was one of the great French squads of the 1960s and 1970s, built around the legendary Mercier bicycle brand that had been crafting frames in Saint-Étienne since 1919. The team's striking blue and yellow livery became synonymous with Gallic panache, carried to glory most famously by Raymond Poulidor — the "eternal second" whose rivalry with Jacques Anquelin captivated an entire nation and defined an era of Tour de France drama. Backed by BP petroleum and rolling on Hutchinson tyres, the squad was a fixture on the roads of France and beyond, embodying the spirit of an age when cycling sponsorship still had a distinctly artisanal, romantic character. This retro set faithfully revives those iconic colours and bold sponsor logos, capturing a time when the peloton was powered as much by heart and heritage as by horsepower.
