Gewiss-Ballan burst onto the professional peloton in the early 1990s as a formidable Italian squad, blending the industrial might of the Gewiss electrical components brand with the craftsmanship of Ballan cycling shoes. The team became synonymous with aggressive racing and tactical brilliance, most memorably during the 1994 Flèche Wallonne, where their riders swept the podium in a display of dominance that stunned the cycling world. Riders like Moreno Argentin and Evgeni Berzin wore these colours with fierce pride, with Berzin's extraordinary 1994 Giro d'Italia victory cementing the team's place in grand tour history. These bib shorts carry the unmistakable black-and-red livery of that era, a colour scheme that radiated power and purpose on every mountain pass and cobbled classic.
