Renault-Elf-Gitane was one of the most revolutionary squads in professional cycling history, daring to challenge tradition with both tactics and technology during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Under the visionary management of Cyrille Guimard, the team propelled Bernard Hinault to multiple Tour de France victories and later nurtured the young Laurent Fignon into a champion. The iconic yellow, black, and white livery — splashed with the logos of French petroleum giant Elf, automaker Renault, and legendary framebuilder Cycles Gitane — became synonymous with an era of French dominance and fearless racing.
