Splendor was a Belgian team that burned bright through the late 1970s and early 1980s, carrying the proud traditions of Flemish cycling into the professional peloton. With sponsorship from Admiral Sport and the popular TV-Ekspres magazine, the squad became a familiar sight across the cobbled classics and stage races of northern Europe. The distinctive red, white, and blue checkered pattern made riders instantly recognizable in the heat of a charging peloton, while the Columbus tubing decal spoke to the era's deep bond between frame builders and the teams who raced on their steel.
