Molteni was the team that defined an era, powered by the incomparable Eddy Merckx during his most dominant years in the late 1960s and 1970s. The Molteni salami company from Arcore, a small town north of Milan, became one of cycling's most recognised sponsors almost by accident — they simply had the greatest rider in history wearing their name.
