BIC burst onto the professional peloton in 1967 with one of the most recognizable kits in cycling history — that unmistakable blaze of orange impossible to miss in any roadside crowd. The team's greatest coup was signing the legendary Jacques Anquetil, already a five-time Tour de France winner, who brought instant prestige and star power to the squad backed by the famous pen manufacturer. The tricolore bands on the sleeves and collar proudly declared the team's French identity, while the bold orange body ensured that BIC riders were visible from every helicopter shot and mountaintop vantage point. Under directeur sportif Raphaël Géminiani, the team competed fiercely through the late 1960s and into the early 1970s, fielding talents like Luis Ocaña and earning stage victories across the grand tours.
