La Vie Claire burst onto the professional peloton in the mid-1980s as one of the most visually striking and culturally ambitious teams cycling had ever seen. The 1985 and 1986 Tour de France victories cemented this jersey as one of the most recognisable in the sport's history, while the fierce rivalry between Hinault and LeMond on the same team gave it a dramatic edge that transcended mere aesthetics.
