Banesto was the team that carried Miguel Indurain to legendary status during his unprecedented five consecutive Tour de France victories from 1991 to 1995, and this 1996 jersey represents the squad as it entered a new chapter following Big Mig's reign. The bold waves of red, blue, yellow, and white echo the colours of the Tour itself, a fitting tribute to the race that Indurain had so thoroughly dominated in Banesto colours. Backed by the Spanish banking giant Banco Español de Crédito, the team was a powerhouse of 1990s professional cycling, blending Spanish passion with meticulous tactical precision.
