La equipación amarilla del gigante español de las telecomunicaciones se convirtió en sinónimo de carreras agresivas y dominio de las Grandes Vueltas, infundiendo miedo en los pelotones durante los años 90 y principios de los 2000. Esta edición de manga larga llevaba esa inconfundible identidad amarillo-sol con la audaz marca ONCE y el distintivo pictograma del bastón que hacía el maillot reconocible al instante en cualquier puerto de montaña.
