Mapei was one of the most dominant and instantly recognizable teams of the 1990s, a powerhouse squad that swept through the cobbled Classics and Grand Tours with an embarrassment of riches in its roster. Under the patronage of Italian adhesives magnate Giorgio Squinzi, the team boasted legends like Johan Museeuw, Franco Ballerini, and Andrea Tafi, riders who turned the spring Classics into their personal playground. The iconic multicolored cube design became synonymous with an era when team budgets were lavish and ambitions even larger, culminating in that unforgettable 1-2-3 finish at Paris–Roubaix in 1996. This particular iteration pays tribute to the Mapei-Latexco partnership of the early 2000s, when the Belgian mattress manufacturer joined forces with the Italian giant to field one of cycling's last great superteams. Wearing these colors is a nod to an era of unmatched dominance on the pavé and a team that redefined what it meant to race as a collective force.
