Helyett-Leroux was one of the great French squads of the late 1950s and early 1960s, powered by the brilliance of Jacques Anquetil during his formative years as a stage race dominator. The team carried the backing of Helyett bicycles and Leroux aperitifs, a distinctly French pairing that embodied the golden age of continental cycling sponsorship. Anquetil's elegant pedalling style and relentless time trialling brought the team glory at the Tour de France and beyond, cementing its place in the sport's mythology.
