Château d'Ax–Gatorade was one of the most exciting Italian squads of the late 1980s and early 1990s, bringing together explosive talent under the guidance of directeur sportif Davide Boifava. The team's bold black and green livery, powered by the unmistakable Gatorade branding, became a fixture on the roads of the Giro d'Italia and the great Spring Classics. Gianni Bugno wore these colours to stunning victories, including his memorable 1990 Giro triumph that announced him as one of cycling's brightest stars. The sharp contrast of black fabric against vivid green panels captured the energy and ambition of a team that raced with real panache.
